Electron beam welding

When electron beam welding, the energy needed accelerated electrons passes through electronic fields in the weld zone. Upon impact on the workpiece, the electrons set around a large part of their kinetic energy into heat. The welding process takes place under vacuum.

Advantages of this welding process are:

  • low-distortion welding
  • good processability of special materials
  • low burning of alloying elements
  • Welding in vacuum means no pollution in the atmosphere
  • It can be prepared up to 40 mm wall thickness in a weld seams.
